Well, it became official while I was on vacation a few weeks ago...  I'm now just another SDE (Software Development Engineer) instead of just another SE.

I'm remaining with my current group in MSN Operations, but am now devoted to software development for our team instead of support and sustained engineering of the servers and applications.  I'm extremely stoked about the opportunity to get my feet wet in the world of development.  I have been doing SE work for the past 5 years and although I enjoyed a lot of it, I'm very happy to be moving my career in this new direction.  I'm looking at a pretty steep learning curver over the next several months and it will be quite challenging, but it's a good thing...

Of course, that means my Space's title and url is now out of date...something I didn't think of when creating it.  :-\  I'll deal with that later though.

Ever heard of Bill Gates' Thinkweek?  It doesn't really matter if you have or have not, because I'm going to tell you anyway.  :)  In nutshell, it's a "seven-day stretch of seclusion he uses to ponder the future of technology and then propagate those thoughts across the Microsoft empire."

This year he invited WSJ journalist Robert Guth to come see what it was all about.  Here's the article.  It's a pretty good read.  Enjoy...

I apologize for the lack of posts (to the 1.5 regular readers out there), but my time has been pretty filled up lately what with 2 weeks of vacation, 3 sick days and trying to complete the stuff that piled up while I was gone.

Things are looking better this week so I'll try to post some relevant issues and how2's.  :)

Just so the 1.5 people who read this blog (me being the 1 whole person) know what's up...  I'll be on vacation in Maui until the 15th.  Work and the internet will be the last things on my mind so please excuse the 10 day hiatus.

Now, off for a few margaritas while kickin back in a beach chair...
